Pork Chops and Potatoes in Mushroom Sauce
This satisfying dinner combines pork chops and thinly sliced potatoes baked in a rich, creamy mushroom sauce. The dish is assembled in a casserole, making it straightforward to prepare. Ingredients
- 4 pork chops
- 4 potatoes, sliced thin
- 1/4 cup onion
- 1 can condensed golden mushroom soup
- 1 3/4 cups milk
- salt & pepper
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
Method
- Warm the canola oil in a frying pan.
- Cook the onion in the pan until it has softened.
- Season the pork chops with salt and pepper.
- Place the chops in the pan and fry them lightly on each side.
- Take the chops from the pan and let them drain on paper towel.
- Preheat your oven to 350.
- Combine the condensed golden mushroom soup with the milk.
- Lightly grease a casserole dish.
- Arrange the sliced potatoes in the base of the dish.
- Place the pork chops over the potatoes.
- Pour the blended soup mixture over the chops and potatoes.
- Bake the dish covered for 40 minutes.
- Continue baking uncovered for another 15 to 20 minutes.
