Ingredients

  • 100g butter
  • 3 tbsp golden syrup
  • 85g demerara sugar
  • 140g porridge oat
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 50g desiccated coconut
  • 2 tbsp linseeds slightly crushed
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 100g chopped hazelnut

Method

  1. 1. Set your oven to 160C/fan 140C/gas 3. Grease a 22cm square baking tin with butter. 2. In a saucepan, gently melt the butter, golden syrup and demerara sugar together. 3. Combine the porridge oat, ground cinnamon, desiccated coconut, slightly crushed linseeds, sesame seeds and chopped hazelnut in the pan, mixing thoroughly. 4. Transfer the mixture into the prepared tin, pressing it down evenly. 5. Bake for 30-35 mins. 6. Allow the baked slab to cool for 5 mins before slicing it into bars. These will keep for 1 week stored in an airtight container.
