Matcha Lemonade
This vibrant lemonade offers a unique twist by incorporating matcha green tea powder. A quick matcha syrup is prepared and then mixed with fresh lemon juice and water. The result is a beautifully green, refreshing beverage that is both earthy and citrusy. It is an excellent way to use matcha powder for a cooling drink. Ingredients
- 150g sugar
- 2 tablespoons matcha green tea powder
- 150ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Sliced lemons, for garnish
Method
- Place the sugar and 240ml of cold water into a small, heavy-bottomed pot. Bring the mixture to a boil, then take it off the heat straight away.
- Whisk the matcha powder into the hot syrup until it and the sugar have fully dissolved.
- Pour the fresh lemon juice and 700ml of cold water into a large pitcher.
- Stir the prepared matcha syrup into the pitcher with the lemon water.
- Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness or dilution with extra sugar or water if you like.
- Serve the drink poured over ice and garnished with slices of lemon.
