Chopped green onions and coleslaw mix are added before the mixture is spooned into fresh iceberg lettuce leaves. Lettuce Wraps

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground turkey or 2 lbs fav. ground beef
  • 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot chili oil
  • 1 teaspoon light soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 0.5 (3/4 ounce) package stir fry seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
  • 1 bunch chopped green onion
  • 0.5 (16 ounce) bag coleslaw mix
  • iceberg lettuce

Method

  1. Cook the ground turkey in a small amount of sesame oil and hot chilli oil until browned.
  2. Stir in the light soy sauce, pepper, minced garlic, half a package of stir fry seasoning, and two tablespoons of teriyaki sauce.
  3. Once the meat is partly cooked, add the chopped green onions and approximately half a bag of coleslaw mix, then continue cooking until everything is browned.
  4. As the mixture cooks, rinse a head of iceberg lettuce and gently separate the leaves, keeping them whole.
  5. When the turkey mixture is fully cooked and hot, spoon some into the centre of each lettuce leaf, wrap it up, and serve immediately.
  6. The warm filling paired with the cool, crisp lettuce offers a wonderful combination of textures and temperatures.
