Ingredients

  • 10 cups water
  • 6 chicken bouillon cubes
  • 1 1/2 cups brown lentils
  • 3 carrots, diced
  • 2 potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, seeded and diced
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cumin

Method

  1. Place the lentils, bouillon cubes, and water into a large soup pot and bring the mixture to a boil.
  2. Lower the heat and allow the soup to simmer gently for 25 minutes.
  3. Stir in the diced carrots, potatoes, red bell pepper, and cumin.
  4. Continue cooking for another 25 minutes, or until all the vegetables have softened.
