Inspired by a classic dish, these sesame noodles feature angel hair pasta coated in a rich sauce of toasted sesame oil, soy sauce, honey and garlic. Tossed with fresh green onions and steamed stir fry vegetables, it creates a flavourful and satisfying meal. The recipe is straightforward and can be prepared in just 18 minutes, making it perfect for a speedy weeknight dinner. The warmth of the pasta gently cooks the minced garlic in the sauce.

Sesame Noodles

Ingredients

  • 1 lb angel hair pasta
  • 1/2 cup toasted sesame oil
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced fine
  • 4 green onions, sliced
  • 2 teaspoons toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 lb stir fry vegetables, steamed (I used broccoli, carrots, water chestnuts and red peppers)

Method

  1. Cook the angel hair pasta in a large pot until it is nearly al dente, then drain it thoroughly and place it in a bowl.
  2. Combine the sesame oil, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic and sesame seeds in a small container that has a lid.
  3. Secure the lid on the container and shake it vigorously to blend the sauce ingredients together.
  4. Pour the prepared sauce over the drained pasta and toss everything well so the noodles are fully coated.
  5. Add the sliced green onions and your steamed stir fry vegetables to the bowl and mix them in.
  6. The dish is now ready to be served immediately.
