Sesame Noodles
Inspired by a classic dish, these sesame noodles feature angel hair pasta coated in a rich sauce of toasted sesame oil, soy sauce, honey and garlic. Tossed with fresh green onions and steamed stir fry vegetables, it creates a flavourful and satisfying meal. The recipe is straightforward and can be prepared in just 18 minutes, making it perfect for a speedy weeknight dinner. The warmth of the pasta gently cooks the minced garlic in the sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 lb angel hair pasta
- 1/2 cup toasted sesame oil
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup honey
- 3 cloves garlic, minced fine
- 4 green onions, sliced
- 2 teaspoons toasted sesame seeds
- 1 lb stir fry vegetables, steamed (I used broccoli, carrots, water chestnuts and red peppers)
Method
- Cook the angel hair pasta in a large pot until it is nearly al dente, then drain it thoroughly and place it in a bowl.
- Combine the sesame oil, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic and sesame seeds in a small container that has a lid.
- Secure the lid on the container and shake it vigorously to blend the sauce ingredients together.
- Pour the prepared sauce over the drained pasta and toss everything well so the noodles are fully coated.
- Add the sliced green onions and your steamed stir fry vegetables to the bowl and mix them in.
- The dish is now ready to be served immediately.
