Homemade Pumpkin Coffee Creamer
Create your own pumpkin spice coffee creamer in under 15 minutes. This recipe uses real pumpkin puree and maple syrup for a rich, authentic flavour. The creamer can be used immediately or stored for later, offering a delightful way to enhance your daily coffee with a seasonal twist. It yields approximately 1 and 3/4 cups.
Ingredients
- 1 and 1/2 cups (360ml) heavy cream, half-and-half, or whole milk*
- 2 heaping Tablespoons (about 35g) pumpkin puree
- 2 Tablespoons (30ml) pure maple syrup (or more, if you prefer sweeter creamer)
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons store-bought or homemade pumpkin pie spice*
- 2 cinnamon sticks
Method
- Combine the heavy cream, pumpkin puree, maple syrup, and pumpkin pie spice in a small saucepan. Add the cinnamon sticks and bring the mixture to a boil, whisking occasionally, for 1 minute. Take it off the heat and allow it to cool in the pan for 5 minutes. If the creamer appears separated, pour it through a fine-mesh sieve.
- The creamer is ready to use in your coffee immediately. Note that it is not intensely sweet on its own, so you may wish to add sugar to your coffee if desired. For an extra treat, you can garnish your drink with whipped cream and a dusting of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice.
- Keep any remaining creamer in a jar with a tight seal in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Remember to remove the cinnamon sticks before storing and shake the jar thoroughly before each use.
