This classic homemade hummus recipe uses simple pantry staples like chickpeas, tahini and fresh lemon juice. Blended together in a food processor, it creates a wonderfully creamy and flavourful dip. Homemade Hummus

Ingredients

  • 1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans (drained, rinsed)
  • 1 medium garlic clove, pressed (about 1 teaspoon worth)
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup water

Method

  1. Combine every listed ingredient in the bowl of a food processor.
  2. Process the mixture for about 45 seconds until it becomes completely smooth and well blended.
  3. Transfer the prepared hummus into a container with a tight fitting lid.
