Homemade Croutons in the Air Fryer
These homemade croutons are wonderfully simple to prepare using an air fryer, which helps avoid burning them. Coated in a seasoned butter mixture, they develop a perfect crispness and superior flavour compared to store-bought alternatives. They are an ideal appetiser or garnish, ready in just 20 minutes.
Ingredients
- 4 slices white bread, cubed
- 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
- 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
- 0.5 teaspoon seasoned salt
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Method
- Set your air fryer to preheat to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- Add the cubed bread to a large bowl. Combine the melted butter with parsley flakes, garlic powder, and seasoned salt, then pour this over the bread. Use a rubber spatula to toss the cubes until they are fully coated. Allow them to rest for 2 minutes so the butter soaks in.
- Transfer the coated bread to the air fryer basket. Cook for 4 minutes, then toss the croutons with a spatula. Continue to cook for another 2 minutes. Once done, move the croutons to a plate lined with paper towels before serving.
