This vibrant green chili sauce is built on a base of fire-roasted peppers, blended with fresh cilantro, scallions, and sweet onion. A touch of honey and lime juice balances the flavours, which are then simmered to develop a rich, cohesive sauce. Green Chili Sauce

Ingredients

  • 12 green chili peppers
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 cup cilantro
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • sea salt
  • 8 scallions
  • 1 sweet onion
  • 2 tablespoons chicken soup base
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 cup salsa

Method

  1. Fire roast the green chili peppers.
  2. Take off the skins, and discard the seeds and stems.
  3. Place all the listed ingredients into a blender and process until smooth.
  4. Transfer the blended mixture to a pot and let it simmer for 2 hours.
  5. Spoon the finished sauce over your prepared enchiladas to serve.
