Ingredients

  • 20 french shallots
  • 2 ounces margarine
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Method

  1. Remove the skins from the shallots.
  2. Place the margarine in a heavy-based pot and allow it to melt.
  3. Introduce all of the peeled shallots to the pot.
  4. Scatter the sugar over the shallots.
  5. Add salt and pepper according to your preference.
