Easy patatas bravas
This classic Spanish tapas dish offers a simple yet flavourful combination. Sliced chorizo and new potatoes are fried until golden, then cooked with cumin, chilli, and garlic. Chopped tomatoes are added to create a rich, spicy sauce, simmered until the potatoes are perfectly tender. It's a versatile dish suitable for a buffet, lunch, or a satisfying side.
Ingredients
- 175g piece chorizo sliced
- 350g sliced new potatoes
- 1/2 tsp cumin seed 1 seeded
- sliced fresh red chilli
- 1 chopped garlic clove
- 400g can chopped tomatoes
Method
- Slice the chorizo and cook it in a large frying pan without oil for a minute.
- Add the sliced new potatoes to the pan and fry them for 5 minutes until they turn golden.
- Next, stir in the cumin seeds, the seeded and sliced red chilli, and the chopped garlic clove, cooking for 2 minutes.
- Pour in the can of chopped tomatoes and allow the mixture to simmer for 10-15 minutes until the potatoes become tender.
