Deviled Eggs
This is a cherished family recipe for deviled eggs, passed down through generations. It involves hard boiling eggs, creating a smooth, seasoned filling from the yolks and mayonnaise, then spooning it back into the whites. The finished eggs are garnished with paprika. The whole process takes about 15 minutes to prepare 24 egg halves.
Ingredients
- 12 eggs
- 2 1/2 cups mayonnaise (I prefer Miracle Whip)
- 1/3 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
Method
- Hard boil your eggs.
- Peel the eggs once they are cool.
- Cut each egg in half lengthwise and transfer the yolks to a bowl, setting the white halves aside.
- Mix the mayonnaise, salt, and pepper into the yolks until you achieve a fairly smooth consistency.
- Use a spoon to place portions of the yolk mixture back into the hollows of the egg white halves.
- Dust the filled eggs with paprika.
- Keep the prepared eggs chilled in the refrigerator.
