Crispy Baked Cereal Chicken

Ingredients

  • 4 cups crispy rice cereal squares (such as Rice Chex®)
  • 1.5 teaspoons garlic salt
  • 1.5 teaspoons seasoned salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

Method

  1. Set your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Put the cereal into a large resealable plastic bag and crush it into fine crumbs. Mix in the garlic salt and seasoned salt by shaking the bag. Transfer this crumb blend to a shallow bowl.
  3. In a separate shallow bowl, whisk the egg together with the milk. Take each chicken breast half and first dip it into the milk mixture, then press it into the crumb mixture to coat thoroughly. Arrange the coated chicken in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Bake the chicken in your preheated oven for about 40 minutes. It is ready when the cereal coating is golden brown, the chicken is cooked through with no pink in the centre, and the juices run clear. You can check with an instant-read thermometer. it should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
