Ingredients
- 1.5 cups ketchup
- 7 ounces brown sugar
- 0.5 red onion, finely chopped
- 0.25 cup honey
- 3.5 fluid ounces red wine vinegar
- 2 ounces butter
- 0.5 small red chile pepper, finely chopped, or to taste
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 0.5 teaspoon paprika
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Method
- Prepare all the listed ingredients.
- Place the ketchup, brown sugar, chopped red onion, honey, red wine vinegar, butter, chopped red chile pepper, garlic, cayenne pepper, paprika, salt, and black pepper into a saucepan and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Lower the heat and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring now and then, until the sauce thickens a little. Then use a hand blender to process it until completely smooth.
