Chinese-style Kale
This recipe gives classic kale an Asian-inspired twist using a few key sauces. It's a quick and flavourful side dish, perfect for dinner or supper. Sliced garlic is cooked in oil before kale is added and wilted with water. The dish is finished with a savoury combination of soy and oyster sauce. It serves three people and takes only 15 minutes to prepare from start to finish.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 large garlic clove sliced
- 200g bag kale
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
Method
- Warm the vegetable oil in a large wok or frying pan, then add the sliced garlic and cook for a few secs. Introduce the kale and toss it in the pan to coat it in the garlic-infused oil.
- Add 100ml boiling water to the pan and continue cooking for 7 mins more until the kale has fully wilted and is tender.
- Mix in the soy sauce and oyster sauce, stirring until everything is heated through and ready to serve.
