Cheesy Rosemary Turkey Bake
Ideal for potlucks or buffets, this satisfying one-dish meal features chopped turkey in a creamy, cheesy sauce with celery, almonds, and aromatic rosemary. It can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated until you are ready to bake it. The result is a comforting, flavourful casserole that serves eight people. The total preparation and cooking time is around 80 minutes.
Ingredients
- 6 cups cooked turkey, chopped
- 1 cup mayonnaise (not fat-free)
- 1/4 cup slivered almonds
- 3 cups celery, sliced 1/2 inch thick
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed (OR 1 Tbsp fresh, snipped)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Method
- Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl, setting aside half a cup of the cheddar cheese.
- Transfer the mixture into a 13x9 inch baking dish.
- Cover the dish and place it in an oven preheated to 350 degrees F. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes.
- Take the bake out of the oven and scatter the reserved cheese over the top.
- Return the dish to the oven, uncovered, and bake for 5 more minutes or until the cheese has melted.
