Cheesy Overnight Bacon and Egg Breakfast Casserole
This hearty breakfast bake is perfect for a crowd. It combines bacon, eggs, and shredded cheese in a savoury custard. You can assemble it the night before and simply bake it in the morning. Ingredients
- 16 ounces cheese, shredded (whatever cheese you desire or cheeses)
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 lb bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 12 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 3/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
- 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
Method
- Lightly coat a 9x13 inch baking dish with nonstick spray or butter.
- Add the shredded cheese to the dish and sprinkle the flour over it. Use your fingers to toss and coat the cheese evenly.
- Distribute the crumbled bacon in an even layer over the cheese.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, seasoning salt, dry mustard, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Gently pour the egg mixture over the bacon and cheese layers.
- Cover the dish and place it in the refrigerator to chill overnight.
- Heat your oven to 325. Bake the uncovered casserole for 45 minutes, or until the centre is firm and the top is golden brown.
- Allow the dish to rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
