Cheesy Oven Scrambled Eggs
This simple breakfast dish transforms eggs into a creamy, cheesy bake. Butter a dish, whisk eggs with cream and seasoning, then pour in. The mixture is baked at 275 F, stirred halfway, then finished with sharp cheddar cheese for a final bake. Garnish with fresh parsley for a colourful finish. It's an effortless way to prepare scrambled eggs for several people without standing at the stove.
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
- 12 large eggs
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- chopped parsley, for garnish
Method
- Set your oven to 275 F. Use the butter to coat the interior of a 9x13 inch baking dish thoroughly.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, and pepper until fully combined.
- Transfer the egg mixture into the butter-coated baking dish.
- Place the dish in the oven and bake for 20 minutes. After 10 minutes, use a rubber spatula to stir the eggs.
- Continue baking for another 5 minutes. Take the dish out, add the shredded cheddar cheese, and stir it in well with the spatula. Return to the oven for a final 5 minutes until the eggs are set and creamy.
- Finish by sprinkling chopped parsley over the top and serve straight away.
