Cheesy Mustard Sauce
This rich and tangy sauce combines cheddar cheese with spicy brown mustard in a smooth, velvety base. It's a versatile topping originally created for waffle fries, but it pairs wonderfully with various vegetables or grilled chicken. The recipe yields a generous quantity suitable for a crowd, but can be simply reduced if needed. You can have it ready to serve in about 10 minutes.
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 3 cups chicken stock
- 2 tablespoons spicy brown mustard (I used Hellman's honey mustard)
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
Method
- Place the butter in a medium saucepot and melt it.
