Cheesy Garlic Sauce for Vegetables

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons garlic butter
  • 2 tablespoons light cream cheese
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon dried cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • salt and pepper

Method

  1. Place the milk, flour and dried cayenne pepper into a medium saucepan and combine them.
  2. Introduce the butter and cream cheese to the pan, allowing them to melt over medium-high heat.
  3. Pour in the lemon juice and add the grated cheddar cheese.
  4. Melt the cheese while stirring continuously over medium heat until the sauce begins to thicken.
  5. Turn the heat down to its lowest setting or take the pan off the heat, continuing to stir as the sauce cools a little.
  6. Enjoy the sauce while warm, poured over steamed broccoli, cauliflower or other vegetables of your choice.
