Cheesy Garlic Bread
This recipe recreates a favourite cheesy garlic bread from a local pizza shop. Using a simple baguette, garlic butter, and mozzarella string cheese, it bakes in a 180C oven for 15 minutes. The result is a warm, stringy, and garlicky loaf perfect for sharing. It makes about 12 pieces, ideal for serving four to six people as a quick and satisfying side dish.
Ingredients
- 1 baguette (12-inch/30cm)
- 2 tablespoons garlic butter (or as much as you like)
- 3 sticks mozzarella string cheese
Method
- Slice the baguette 12 times, ensuring you do not cut all the way through, then spread garlic butter onto both sides of each cut.
- Carefully make a lengthwise slit along the top of the baguette, again avoiding cutting through the base.
- Arrange the mozzarella string cheese sticks into the centre slit, overlapping them slightly if needed to fit.
- Wrap the loaf tightly in foil and bake in a preheated 180C oven for 15 minutes. For a crispier top, open the foil slightly for the final 5 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and serve the bread immediately while hot.
