Cheesy Crockpot Lasagna
This slow cooker lasagna is an ideal Italian potluck dish. It layers uncooked noodles with seasoned meat, spaghetti sauce, and a trio of cheeses including ricotta and mozzarella. Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef or 1 lb turkey, browned and drained
- 8 lasagna noodles, uncooked
- 1 (28 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce, any flavor
- 1 teaspoon oregano or 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms (optional)
- 1 small onion, chopped (optional)
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
Method
- Break the lasagna noodles into pieces and arrange them in the base of a greased crock pot.
- Mix the oregano or Italian seasoning into the browned meat, then spread this mixture over the noodles.
- Over the meat, layer half of the spaghetti sauce mixed with water, half of the optional mushrooms, half of the ricotta cheese, and half of the shredded mozzarella.
- Repeat the layering process with the remaining ingredients.
- Put the lid on the crock pot and cook on the low setting for 5 hours.
