Cheesy Crock Pot Au Gratin Potatoes
These slow cooker au gratin potatoes are wonderfully thick and creamy, making a very satisfying side. Ingredients
- 2 lbs frozen hash brown potatoes (plain, unseasoned)
- 1 (8 ounce) package Velveeta cheese
- 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can Campbell's Cream of Mushroom Soup
- 1 pint half-and-half cream
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese (shredded)
Method
- Coat the base of your slow cooker with a non-stick cooking spray or use a liner for simple cleaning.
- Place the frozen hash brown potatoes evenly across the bottom of the prepared pot.
- Warm the Velveeta, cream of mushroom soup, half-and-half, butter, and shredded cheddar together, stirring until the cheese has fully melted and the mixture is smooth. Ensure it does not reach a boil.
- Evenly distribute the warm cheese sauce over the layer of potatoes.
- Put the lid on the slow cooker and cook for 7-9 hours on the low setting or for 3-4 hours on the high setting. Note that exact timings can differ between appliance models.
