Cheesy Bacon Jalapeno Poppers
These tasty poppers are perfect for gatherings and are surprisingly simple to prepare. Jalapeno halves are boiled, then filled with a rich blend of cream cheese, cheddar and Worcestershire sauce before being topped with crispy bacon and baked until the cheese is beautifully melted. They make a fantastic appetiser for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 25 jalapeno peppers, medium sized
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 3 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 1/4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 4 slices bacon, cooked & crumbled
Method
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil and preheat your oven to 400 F.
- Slice each jalapeno pepper in half lengthways and scoop out the seeds. Boil the pepper halves for 5 minutes, then drain them thoroughly.
- Mix the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese and Worcestershire sauce together until well combined. Spoon a generous teaspoon of this cheese filling onto each pepper half. Finish by sprinkling the crumbled bacon over the top. Arrange the filled peppers on a baking sheet.
- Bake the poppers at 400 F for 5 minutes, or just until the cheese has melted.
