Cheesecake Factory Romano Chicken
This recipe recreates the popular Cheesecake Factory Romano Chicken. Chicken breasts are pounded thin, then coated in seasoned flour, egg, and shredded Romano cheese before being pan-fried. The result is a crispy, golden exterior with a flavourful cheese crust. It is a quick dish, ready in just 17 minutes, and is suggested to be served with a pasta sauce such as Alfredo or spaghetti sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup flour
- 2 tablespoons romano cheese, you can use kraft in a jar
- salt and pepper
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 teaspoons water
Method
- Combine the egg and water by whisking them together.
- Flatten the chicken breasts using a meat mallet until they are no more than 1/2 inch thick.
- Add salt and pepper to the flour, then dredge the chicken in this seasoned mixture.
- Next, dip the floured chicken into the egg wash and press it into the shredded Romano cheese to coat.
- Heat a small amount of oil in a frying pan and place the chicken in it.
- Fry the chicken until it turns a golden brown colour on both sides.
