Brown Sugar Pepper Salmon
This baked salmon dish is a fantastic choice for both busy evenings and special occasions. The fillets are coated in a simple yet flavourful rub of brown sugar, black pepper, and dried dill, then baked until perfectly flaky. Ingredients
- 2 individually frozen salmon fillets (or 2 cuts of fresh salmon)
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried dill
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
Method
- Set your oven to heat to 400°F.
- If using frozen fillets, thaw the salmon. Rinse it under cold water and use a paper towel to pat it completely dry. Arrange the dried fillets in a baking dish that has been lightly greased.
- Take a small bowl and mix together the brown sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, fresh ground black pepper, and dried dill.
- Use a brush to coat the top of each salmon fillet with the melted butter. Generously sprinkle the prepared brown sugar and pepper mixture over the buttered tops to cover them.
- Place the dish in the oven and bake for 18-20 minutes. The salmon is ready when it flakes easily when tested with a fork.
