Black Pepper Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs fresh shrimp, unpeeled (heads cut off)
  • 8 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons chopped garlic
  • 4 tablespoons fresh ground black pepper

Method

  1. Heat your oven to 450°F.
  2. Wash the shrimp, let them drain, and arrange them in a single layer in a shallow baking dish.
  3. Place the butter in a small saucepan and melt it.
  4. Stir the chopped garlic into the melted butter and cook it for 3 to 4 minutes.
  5. Drizzle the garlic butter over the shrimp in the pan and toss everything to ensure the shrimp are coated.
  6. Generously sprinkle roughly half of the ground black pepper over the shrimp, covering them well.
  7. Bake the shrimp until they turn pink, which should take about 5 minutes.
  8. Flip the shrimp over, scatter the rest of the pepper on top, and return the pan to the oven for a few more minutes.
  9. Take care not to leave the shrimp in the oven for too long.
