Black Pepper Shrimp
This simple yet bold dish coats unpeeled shrimp in a rich garlic butter before baking. A heavy application of fresh ground black pepper creates a deliciously spicy crust. Ingredients
- 3 lbs fresh shrimp, unpeeled (heads cut off)
- 8 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons chopped garlic
- 4 tablespoons fresh ground black pepper
Method
- Heat your oven to 450°F.
- Wash the shrimp, let them drain, and arrange them in a single layer in a shallow baking dish.
- Place the butter in a small saucepan and melt it.
- Stir the chopped garlic into the melted butter and cook it for 3 to 4 minutes.
- Drizzle the garlic butter over the shrimp in the pan and toss everything to ensure the shrimp are coated.
- Generously sprinkle roughly half of the ground black pepper over the shrimp, covering them well.
- Bake the shrimp until they turn pink, which should take about 5 minutes.
- Flip the shrimp over, scatter the rest of the pepper on top, and return the pan to the oven for a few more minutes.
- Take care not to leave the shrimp in the oven for too long.
