Blue Cheese Bread
This simple and tasty bread is an ideal appetiser or accompaniment. Made with ready-made biscuits, a melted blue cheese and butter mixture, and optional Parmesan, it bakes until golden. The result is a warm, pull-apart finger food that is sure to be popular with guests of all ages. The entire process takes just 30 minutes from start to finish.
Ingredients
- 1 (16 1/3 ounce) package pillsbury grands homestyle biscuits
- 1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine
- 4 ounces crumbled blue cheese
- parmesan cheese (optional)
Method
- Melt the butter or margarine in a pan and add the crumbled blue cheese.
- Continue stirring the mixture until the blue cheese has fully melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Cut each individual dinner roll into 6 separate pieces.
- Lightly oil an 8x8-inch pan or a glass baking dish of a similar size. a glass dish is recommended.
- Transfer the combined butter and blue cheese mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- Arrange the cut dough pieces in the dish, placing them on top of the cheese mixture and ensuring they are crowded together and touching.
- Bake following the package directions for the rolls, typically 13-17 minutes at 350°-375°, until the underside visible through the glass is golden brown.
- Once baked, invert the dish so the bread drops out easily, turning the former bottom into the top, and serve it straight away.
- If desired, sprinkle the hot bread with Parmesan cheese before serving.
- This dish is designed as a pull-apart finger food and is exceptionally tasty.
