Banana Party Punch
This vibrant party punch is an ideal make-ahead drink for a large crowd. It begins with a simple sugar syrup blended with ripe bananas and a trio of fruit juices. The mixture is frozen until slushy, then combined with lemon-lime soda just before serving to create a refreshing, fizzy finish. It yields enough for 60 servings, making it perfect for celebrations and events.
Ingredients
- 4 cups sugar
- 6 cups water
- 6 ripe bananas
- 1 (46 ounce) can pineapple juice
- 2 (12 ounce) cans frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed and undiluted
- 1 (12 ounce) can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed and undiluted
- 2 (2 liter) bottles 7-Up soda
Method
- Place the sugar and 6 cups water into a saucepan. Cook while stirring constantly until the sugar has fully dissolved.
- Allow the sugar mixture to cool down completely.
- Use an electric blender to puree the 6 ripe bananas until they are completely smooth.
- In a large freezer container, combine the banana puree, the cooled sugar mixture, the pineapple juice, the thawed orange juice concentrate and the thawed lemonade concentrate.
- When ready to serve, let the frozen mixture thaw until it reaches a slushy consistency.
- Transfer the slush to a punch bowl and gently stir in the 2 bottles of 7-Up soda.
- Serve the punch straight away.
