Balsamic Glaze
This intensely flavourful balsamic glaze requires only two simple ingredients. It creates a glossy, sweet and tangy reduction that is wonderfully versatile. Use it to enhance grilled chicken or burgers, or as a finishing touch for roasted vegetables and fresh fruits. The recipe yields about 1 cup and takes roughly 25 minutes from start to finish.
Ingredients
- 2 cups balsamic vinegar
- 0.5 cup brown sugar
Method
- Collect the required ingredients.
- Combine the balsamic vinegar and brown sugar in a saucepan, stirring continually over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely. Allow the mixture to reach a boil.
- Lower the heat and let it simmer until the volume reduces by half and the mixture thickly coats a spoon, which should take about 20 minutes.
- Allow the glaze to cool completely before transferring it to a jar with a lid. Seal the jar and keep it chilled in the refrigerator.
