Ingredients
- 1 cup whole milk
- 0.5 Mexican hot chocolate drink tablet (such as Nestle® Abuelita®)
- 1 dried red chile de arbol, lightly toasted
Method
- Warm the milk and chocolate together in a small saucepan, stirring frequently until the chocolate has fully melted, which should take about 5 minutes. Ensure the mixture does not reach a boil.
- Transfer the mixture to a blender, secure the lid with a potholder, and blend to create a foamy texture. Pour it into your mug. Prepare the chile by breaking it into 2 or 3 pieces, discarding the seeds, and add them to the hot chocolate. Serve right away.
