Arnold Palmer

Ingredients

  • For the tea:
  • 4 English breakfast tea bags
  • 1 tea kettle filled with boiling water
  • For the simple syrup:
  • 200g granulated sugar
  • 240ml water
  • For the lemonade:
  • 240ml simple syrup
  • 240ml lemon juice
  • 1 lemon, zested
  • 250g ice cubes, plus additional for serving

Method

  1. For the tea, secure the tea bags together and attach them to a large pitcher's handle. Pour the boiling water from the kettle over the bags into the pitcher. Leave it to steep for 5 minutes.
  2. To make the simple syrup, combine the sugar and water in a medium saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil, then let it simmer until the sugar dissolves fully. Take the pan off the heat and allow the syrup to cool completely.
  3. For the lemonade, place the simple syrup, lemon juice, lemon zest, and ice cubes into a blender. Pulse the ingredients until they form a puree. Transfer this mixture to the freezer until the tea is ready.
  4. Fill a large glass with additional ice cubes. Pour the steeped tea over the ice.
  5. Use an ice cream scoop to add a portion of the frozen lemonade mixture into the glass with the tea.
