Toss the cooked wings in a classic hot sauce and butter mixture, then serve them with your choice of creamy dressing for dipping. This method delivers all the satisfaction of traditional wings with a simpler, cleaner cooking process.

Air Fryer Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings, split at the joint and tips removed
  • Kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce, such as Frank's RedHot
  • Ranch or blue cheese dressing, for serving
  • Special Equipment:
  • 3L air fryer

Method

  1. Dry the chicken wings with kitchen paper and season them well with salt. Arrange the wings in the basket of a 3L air fryer, ensuring they do not touch. You can stand the drumettes upright around the edges if needed. Cook at 180 degrees C for 12 minutes.
  2. Use tongs to turn the wings over. Cook for another 12 minutes at the same temperature.
  3. Flip the wings once more. Increase the air fryer temperature to 200 degrees c and continue cooking for about 6 minutes, until the exterior is very crisp.
  4. While the wings cook, melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl. This should take about 1 minute in the microwave. Stir the hot sauce into the melted butter.
  5. Transfer the cooked wings to a large bowl. Pour the butter and hot sauce mixture over them and toss to coat evenly. Serve immediately with ranch or blue cheese dressing on the side.
