5 Spice Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb medium shrimp, deveined,tail left on
  • 2 teaspoons five-spice powder (I use more)
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove minced garlic (I use more)
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine

Method

  1. Dry the shrimp with a paper towel, then coat them in the five-spice powder along with salt and pepper.
  2. Place a pan on the cooker, add the olive oil and allow it to get hot.
  3. Put the coated shrimp into the pan and cook, moving them around, until they curl up and become pink, which takes 1-2 minutes.
  4. Stir the minced garlic into the pan and continue cooking for another 30 seconds.
  5. Pour in the dry white wine and let it bubble until the liquid has reduced by half and the shrimp are fully opaque, about 1 minute.
  6. Dish up the shrimp while they are still warm.
