5 Minute Tomato Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup good olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 (24 ounce) cans tomato sauce (or plum tomatoes)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon basil
  • 1/2 tablespoon parsley

Method

  1. Warm the olive oil in a stockpot and cook the minced garlic and chopped onion until they begin to turn golden. Include the red pepper flakes at this stage if you are using them.
  2. Pour in the tomato sauce, then add the salt, basil, and parsley to the pot.
