5 Minute Slaw
This tangy slaw is prepared without oil, using red wine vinegar for a sharp dressing. Celery seeds and sliced green onions provide distinctive flavour. It comes together very quickly but benefits from a long chill of 4 to 6 hours in the refrigerator, allowing the tastes to combine fully. It's an excellent accompaniment for dishes like fried fish.
Ingredients
- 0.25 cup red wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 0.33333334326744 teaspoon celery seed
- 3 green onions, thinly sliced
- 2 (8 ounce) packages coleslaw mix
Method
- In a salad bowl, whisk together the red wine vinegar, white sugar, salt, celery seed, and thinly sliced green onions until the sugar and salt are fully dissolved.
- Add the coleslaw mix to the bowl and toss it thoroughly with the prepared dressing.
- Place the slaw in the refrigerator to chill for 4 to 6 hours.
