4th of July Flag Cake

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups cold milk
  • 1 (5.1 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1.5 cups frozen whipped topping (such as Cool Whip®), thawed
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cups fresh blueberries
  • 2 cups fresh raspberries
  • 3 cups sliced fresh strawberries

Method

  1. Use an electric mixer to combine the cold milk and instant pudding mix in a bowl, continuing until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps.
  2. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until creamy, then slowly incorporate the milk and pudding mixture until fully combined and smooth. Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping.
  3. Mix the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter together in a separate bowl until the crumbs are uniformly moistened, then firmly press this mixture into the base of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  4. Reserve 45 blueberries and 60 raspberries for the final decoration. Combine all the remaining blueberries, raspberries and sliced strawberries in a bowl. Scatter this berry mixture over the prepared crust, then evenly spread the pudding mixture on top. Finish by arranging the reserved blueberries and raspberries on the surface to create a flag pattern.
