4 Layer Pie

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup margarine, softened
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup Cool Whip (you will use an entire 12 oz container of Cool Whip for the recipe)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 (3 1/2 ounce) package chocolate instant pudding (small box)
  • 1 (3 1/2 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding (small box)
  • 3 cups milk
  • 3 cups Cool Whip (aprox. the remainder from the 2nd Layer of the 12 oz container)

Method

  1. Combine the powdered sugar, flour and softened margarine by cutting them together.
  2. Press this mixture into a 9x13 inch pan and bake it for 35 minutes. Let the baked crust cool for at least 15 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with one cup of powdered sugar and one cup of Cool Whip until well mixed.
  4. Spread this cream cheese mixture evenly over the fully cooled crust to form the second layer.
  5. Prepare the third layer by mixing the chocolate and vanilla instant pudding powders with 3 cups of milk as per the package directions.
  6. Pour the prepared pudding over the cream cheese layer. Cover the dish and place it in the refrigerator for 6 hours.
  7. Just before you are ready to serve the dessert, spread the remaining Cool Whip over the top to create the final layer.
