It combines ground chuck beef with onion, a packet of chili seasoning, and a convenient mix of canned ingredients including seasoned beans, diced tomatoes, tomatoes with green chilies, and tomato sauce. The result is a hearty, savoury dish that serves eight.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground chuck beef (80% lean)
- 0.75 cup chopped yellow onion
- 1 (1.25 ounce) package chili seasoning mix
- 1 (16 ounce) can beans in chili seasoned sauce, undrained
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can Hunt's® Diced Tomatoes, undrained
- 1 (10 ounce) can Ro*Tel® Original Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies, undrained
- 1 (8 ounce) can Hunt's® Tomato Sauce
- 1 cup water
Method
- In a large saucepan, cook the beef and chopped onion together until the meat is browned and fully cooked, which should take 5 to 7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Mix in the chili seasoning. Pour in the undrained beans, both cans of undrained tomatoes, the tomato sauce, and the water. Let the mixture come to a boil, then lower the heat and let it cook for 10 minutes, giving it a stir now and then.
