3 Spice Fuss Free Fish Fillet Curry
This straightforward Indian curry requires only three core spices for its flavourful sauce. Cubed fish fillets are cooked with onion, garlic, and tomato in a spiced base, then simmered with a little water. The entire dish comes together in just 20 minutes, offering a fragrant and satisfying meal with minimal effort.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cubed fish fillets (your fav. fish)
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
- 1 cup chopped tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 1/2 tablespoons canola oil
Method
- Warm the canola oil in a suitable pan, such as a cast iron skillet, and cook the chopped onion and garlic.
- Continue cooking until the onions start to brown.
- Stir in the chopped tomatoes along with the salt, red chilli powder, and turmeric powder.
- Cook the mixture, stirring occasionally, until the oil separates and the sauce becomes a vibrant red colour.
- Introduce the cubed fish fillets to the pan and stir gently to coat them thoroughly in the spiced sauce.
- Pour in approximately 1/2 cup of water, cover the pan, and allow it to cook for 10 minutes.
- Your aromatic and effortless fish curry is now ready to serve.
