3-Meat Pizza Ring
This impressive pizza ring is packed with three types of meat and cheese, all encased in a golden crescent dough. It's a fun and tasty twist on classic pizza flavours, ideal for a family meal or casual gathering. The recipe is straightforward to prepare and cooks in under 45 minutes, resulting in a visually striking and satisfying dish that everyone will enjoy.
Ingredients
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1 (15 ounce) can pizza sauce, divided
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 1/2 cups shredded pizza cheese
- 1/2 cup diced Canadian bacon
- 1/2 cup chopped pepperoni
- 2 (8 ounce) tubes refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
Method
- Set your oven to heat to 375 degrees.
- Cook the Italian sausage and crushed garlic in a large skillet until the meat is fully cooked and no longer pink. Drain away any excess fat. Mix in half a cup of the pizza sauce, along with the chopped pepperoni, diced Canadian bacon and one cup of the shredded pizza cheese.
- Unroll the tubes of crescent dough and separate the pieces into individual triangles. On a 14 inch pizza pan that has not been greased, arrange the triangles so their points face outwards. The wider ends should overlap in the middle, creating a circle with a 4 inch open space in the centre. Press down on the overlapping dough to seal it together.
- Spread the meat and cheese filling evenly over the wide, overlapping ends of the dough. Take the pointed ends of each triangle and fold them over the filling, tucking the tips underneath to create a ring shape. Some of the filling will remain visible.
- Place the ring in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent pastry turns a golden brown colour. Take it out and sprinkle the remaining half cup of pizza cheese over the top. Return it to the oven for another 5 minutes, or just until the cheese has melted. Offer the leftover pizza sauce for dipping when you serve.
