3 Cheese Manicotti
This three-cheese manicotti is a cherished family recipe, adapted over the years for different ovens. It's a convenient one-dish meal that creates minimal mess and can be prepared in advance. Manicotti shells are filled with a blend of cream cheese and mozzarella, layered with sauce, and baked with a final topping of parmesan.
Ingredients
- 12 manicotti
- 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1 (8 ounce) container chive & onion cream cheese
- 4 cups spaghetti sauce, to taste
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
Method
- Follow the package instructions to cook the manicotti shells.
- Rinse the cooked pasta thoroughly under cool water and pat it dry.
- As the pasta cooks, combine the chive and onion cream cheese with 3 cups of the shredded mozzarella.
- Fill the dried shells with the cheese mixture. Spread a thin layer of spaghetti sauce over the base of a 13 by 9 inch baking dish.
- Arrange the stuffed manicotti in the dish and pour the rest of the sauce over the top.
- Scatter the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
- Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 30 minutes at 375.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle the parmesan cheese over the top, and return to the oven for a further 15 minutes.
