Ingredients

  • 1 (15 ounce) package part-skim ricotta cheese
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 (16 ounce) package ziti pasta, cooked and drained
  • 1 (26 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Method

  1. Set your oven to heat to 350.
  2. Mix the ricotta cheese, beaten eggs and grated Parmesan in a large bowl and leave to one side.
  3. Take another bowl and mix the hot, cooked ziti pasta with the entire jar of spaghetti sauce until well combined.
  4. Spread half of the pasta and sauce mixture into the base of a 13x9 inch baking dish.
  5. Spoon the reserved ricotta cheese mixture evenly over the pasta layer.
  6. Cover the cheese layer with the rest of the pasta and sauce mixture.
  7. Scatter the cup of shredded mozzarella cheese over the top.
  8. Place the dish in the oven and bake for 30 minutes or until the contents are heated through.
  9. Offer additional spaghetti sauce, meat sauce or sauce with meatballs alongside when serving.
