2 Minute Microwave Fudge
This recipe yields an exceptionally rich and sweet homemade fudge. The process is remarkably quick, requiring just two minutes in the microwave. You simply combine sifted dry ingredients with milk and vanilla, then melt butter into the mixture. After beating it smooth, you can add optional nuts before chilling the fudge until firm. Ingredients
- 1 lb powdered sugar
- 2/3 cup cocoa
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Method
- Sift the powdered sugar, cocoa and salt into a microwave safe bowl that holds one quart.
- Add the milk and vanilla to the bowl and stir them in.
- Ensure the mixture is combined thoroughly.
- Put the butter on top of the mixture in the bowl.
- Microwave the bowl on high for 2 minutes.
- Use a wooden spoon to beat the mixture until it becomes smooth.
- Mix in the chopped nuts if you are using this optional ingredient.
- Transfer the mixture to an 8 by 8 by 2 inch baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Place the pan in the refrigerator to chill for about 1 hour or until the fudge is firm.
- Slice the chilled fudge into 36 separate pieces.
