2 Hour Buns
This recipe guides you through creating soft, homemade buns in a little over two hours. The process begins by activating yeast in a sweetened water mixture. Eggs are then beaten with sugar and oil before being combined with flour and salt to form a dough. After kneading and allowing the dough to rise, it is shaped into individual buns for a second proof before baking until golden.
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons yeast
- 2 cups warm water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup oil
- 5 -6 cups flour
Method
- Dissolve half of the sugar in the warm water, then add the yeast and allow it to dissolve.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with the remaining sugar and the oil until the mixture becomes foamy.
- Add the flour and salt to the wet ingredients and knead the dough thoroughly.
- Allow the dough to rise once. After it has risen, shape it into buns and let them rise again. Once ready, bake at 375 for 12 - 15 min.
