This quick Mexican dish delivers all the flavours of a taco in a convenient one-pan format. Lean ground beef is browned and simmered with taco seasoning and water before being combined with white rice. It's then topped with shredded cheese and briefly cooked until melted. Ingredients
- 1 lb extra lean ground beef
- 2 cups water
- 1 (1 1/4 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
- 2 cups MINUTE White Rice, uncooked
- 1 cup kraft Mexican blend cheese, shredded
- 2 cups shredded lettuce
- 2 cups chopped tomatoes
Method
- Brown the ground beef in a large nonstick skillet, then drain any excess fat.
- Pour in the water and add the taco seasoning mix, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- Stir the uncooked white rice into the skillet. Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the top, then cover the pan. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Finish by topping with the shredded lettuce and chopped tomatoes.
