15 Minute Peanut Butter Cookies
These satisfying peanut butter cookies require only three basic ingredients and can be ready in a quarter of an hour. The simple dough comes together quickly, and the cookies bake up thick with a delightful aroma. They are perfect for a spontaneous sweet treat, offering a classic flavour with minimal effort and no need for a trip to the shops.
Ingredients
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
Method
- Heat your oven to 350°F.
- Place the peanut butter in a medium bowl. Add the egg and mix thoroughly until the texture is smooth and even.
- Prepare a cookie sheet by greasing it or lining it with wax paper. Scoop roughly a tablespoon of dough, form it into a ball, and position it on the sheet, leaving just under an inch between each one.
- Use a fork to press down on each dough ball to flatten it to your preferred thickness. Remember that the cookies will expand only slightly, perhaps a centimetre or two, during baking.
- If you like, you can scatter a little extra sugar over the tops of the cookies before they go into the oven for added sweetness.
- Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes. Oven times can vary, so check for doneness by inserting a fork into the centre of a cookie. if it comes out clean, they are ready. If batter sticks to the fork, return them to the oven for another minute or two.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the sheet for 2 minutes before serving.
