Ingredients

  • 1 (16 -20 ounce) bag dried 15 bean mix, with seasoning pack
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 3 ham hocks or 1 meaty ham bone
  • 1 (16 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 head garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 stalks celery, chopped
  • 3 carrots, chopped
  • 2 chicken bouillon cubes
  • 6 cups water
  • 2 bay leaves
  • seasoning salt
  • pepper, to taste

Method

  1. Presoak the beans overnight, or follow the package instructions for a quick boil.
  2. Place all the listed ingredients into your slow cooker.
  3. Cook the soup on a high setting for 6-8 hours, until the beans have softened.
