10-Minute White Pizza
This speedy Italian main course delivers a garlicky, cheesy pizza without any tomato sauce. Using a prepared thin crust base, it's topped with a blend of mozzarella, provolone and Parmigiano Reggiano, along with sliced artichoke hearts. It bakes in a very hot oven for a mere 6 to 8 minutes, resulting in a bubbling, golden finish garnished with fresh parsley and cut into bite-sized squares for serving. Perfect for a fast, flavourful meal.
Ingredients
- 1 package thin crust prepared pizza shell or prepared focaccia, 450g
- Extra-virgin olive oil, for drizzling
- 3 large cloves garlic, minced
- 100g shredded mozzarella
- 100g shredded provolone
- 25g grated Parmigiano Reggiano or Romano
- 1 (425g) tin artichoke hearts in water, drained and thinly sliced
- 10g chopped parsley
Method
- Set your oven to 260 degrees C/Gas 10 to preheat.
- Place the prepared pizza shell or focaccia on a suitable pizza pan or baking tray. Drizzle it with olive oil and distribute the minced garlic evenly across the surface, reaching the edges.
- Combine the three cheeses and spread this mixture over the base, ensuring it covers the shell completely to the edges.
- Arrange the thinly sliced artichoke hearts on top of the cheese layer.
- Bake for 6 to 8 mins, until the cheeses have fully melted and are bubbling.
- Take the pizza from the oven, scatter the chopped parsley over it as a garnish, then slice into bite-size squares using a pizza wheel or knife before serving.
